Dollar Steady Following US Consumer Confidence Report

Chicago (Dec 31)  Results of Conference Board's consumer confidence index rose to 78.1 in December from 70.4 in November. Economists expected the consumer confidence index to improve to 76.8 in the month.

The US dollar held steady against its major counterparts after the report. As of 10:03 am ET, the greenback was trading at 1.3770 against the euro, 1.6543 versus the pound, 0.8910 against the Swiss franc and 104.91 against the yen.
