April 14, 2015

London (Apr 14)  Gold today fell for the second day to a two-week low before US retail sales data that may strengthen the case for higher borrowing costs.

Gold fell 0.6 per cent to USD 1,191.47 an ounce. It reached USD 1,190.18, the lowest since April 1. Silver also declined 1.1 per cent to USD 16.10 an ounce, the lowest since March 20.

Platinum lost 0.5 per cent to USD 1,148.50 an ounce. The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index was little changed after reaching a three-week high on Monday, before data Tuesday that's forecast to show US retail sales advanced last month.
