Gold price inches up as market awaits Trump conference

London (Jan 11)  The gold price inched up during Asian morning trading hours on Wednesday January 11, amid a slightly weaker dollar ahead of US president-elect Donald Trump’s press conference later today.

The conference – Trump’s first since winning the US election in November – should reveal further details about his proposed fiscal stimulus package and trade policy changes. The spot gold price was recently quoted at $1,187.85/1,188.35 per oz as of 11:57 Shanghai time, up $1.7 from the previous day’s close. Trade has ranged from $1,185.55 to $1,189.20 so far today.
