Silver prices rise with U.S. Fed in focus

New York (Dec 16)  Silver prices were higher on Monday, as investors awaited a Federal Reserve meeting starting tomorrow to gauge the timing of stimulus cuts.

Spot silver price traded up 68 cents at $20.26 a troy ounce during morning trade, up over 3%.

Silver traders were turning their attention to the outcome of the Fed's upcoming policy meeting on Wednesday, with some expecting the central bank to announce a small reduction in the pace of its USD85 billion-a-month asset purchase program.
