Stock Futures slip as stronger dollar hurts gold, oil

June 12, 2015

Ottawa-Canada (Jun 12)  Stock futures pointed to a lower opening for Canada's main stock index on Friday as a stronger dollar weighed on gold and oil prices.

June futures on the S&P TSX index SXFc1 were down 0.31 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET.

No major economic events are scheduled for the day.

Canada's main stock index fell on Thursday as energy and mining stocks were tripped up by softer commodity prices, with see-sawing action likely to persist as investors fret about Greek debt talks and possible U.S. interest rate hikes.

Dow Jones Industrial Average e-mini futures 1YMc1 were down 0.16 percent at 7:15 a.m. ET, while S&P 500 e-mini futures ESc1 were down 0.18 percent and Nasdaq 100 e-mini futures NQc1 were down 0.26 percent.
