Dollar trades at lower 107 yen in early Tokyo deals

Tokyo-Japan (Oct 20)  The U.S. dollar traded in the lower  107 yen  zone early Monday in  Tokyo  , slightly higher than its level on Friday in  New York  .

At  9 a.m.  , the dollar fetched  107.13-16 yen  compared with  106.88-98 yen  in  New York  and  106.42-43 yen  in  Tokyo  at  5 p.m. Friday  .

The euro was quoted at  $1.2748-2749  and  136.57-58 yen  against  $1.2755-2765  and  136.32-42 yen  in  New York  and  $1.2785-2786  and  136.06-10 yen  in  Tokyo  late Friday afternoon.

The dollar carried over its momentum from Friday, when rebounds on  Wall Street  and better-than-expected U.S. consumer confidence data for October led traders to buy the dollar and sell the safe-haven yen.
