Escalating tensions between the Ukraine and Russia raise gold & silver

Kiev (Mar 2)  The Ukraine government has interpreted Russian military action in the Crimea Peninsula as a Declaration of War. Consequently, early trading has precious metals up across the board in Asia, reflecting heightened tensions.

By 9:00pm EST gold was up $14 to $1343, silver up 22 cents to $21.45, platimum up $5 to $1447 and palladiul up $3 to $743.
