Former FBI Director Comey Set to Testify Before Congress

June 8, 2017

Washington (June 8)  Former FBI Director James Comey will appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee on June 8 marking his first public testimony since President Donald Trump dismissed him.

Comey will testify in an open session first and then in closed session in the afternoon.

The testimony is in conjunction with the panel's investigation into allegations that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election.

Comey was fired last month while managing the FBI's own investigation of alleged Russian interference.

Comey is expected to testify about his documentation of meetings with Trump, in which the president allegedly asked Comey for his loyalty and to drop the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
