Gold Price Little Changed Despite Dollar Weakness

London (Oct 10)  Spot gold was marginally higher at USD1,187.38 an ounce while US gold futures were down slightly at USD1,191.10.

US President Donald Trump has criticized the Federal Reserve once again, saying he believes the central bank was moving too quickly with the rate hikes.

Trump also repeated a threat to impose tariffs on USD267 billion worth of additional Chinese imports if Beijing retaliates for the recent levies and other measures.

Elsewhere in Europe, Italian bond yields pulled back from four-year high hit on Tuesday after the country's finance minister tried to stem growing concerns over Italy's budget plans, saying the government will do all it can to restore market confidence.
