Gold Price & silver price decline this past week in Asia

Kathmandu-Nepal (Aug 9)  Gold and silver prices declined by Rs 500 and five rupees per tola, respectively, over the week from August 2 to 7.

Gold price had remained stable at Rs 48,000 per tola in the previous week — fourth week of July — after a drop to a four-year low in the third week of July. However, gold price resumed its downward trajectory this week.

The market opened on Sunday with gold price fixed at Rs 48,000 per tola and continued its free fall till Tuesday — third trading day of the week. Bullion price dropped by Rs 200 per tola on Monday and was traded at Rs 47,800 per tola.

The price of the precious yellow metal again slumped by Rs 300 per tola and was fixed at Rs 47,500 per tola on Tuesday. The price remained unchanged till Friday — the last trading day of the week.

Likewise, price of silver also dropped by five rupees per tola in six trading days of the week.

Silver was traded at Rs 665 per tola on Sunday — the first trading day of the week. The price of the white metal remained the same on Monday. However, silver price declined by five rupees per tola on Tuesday to be fixed at Rs 660 a tola.

The price of the white metal remained unchanged till Friday to close the week’s trading at Rs 660 per tola.
