World Gold Council: international gold prices rise 18.4% in 2019

Johannesburg-SA (Jan 12)  The latest data from the World Gold Council show that the international gold price will run in the range of $1393 / oz to $1546 / oz in 2019, up 18.4% for the whole year. With the exception of gold, denominated in dollars and Swiss francs, gold prices in other currencies have risen to all-time highs or near record highs. In addition, global gold ETF positions rose by 400 tonnes in 2019, and the total size of gold ETF increased by 14 per cent to a record high.
