Russian January gold output at 17.84 tonnes

Moscow (March 27)  Russia produced 17.84 tonnes of gold in January, up from 15.67 tonnes in the same period in 2018, the finance ministry said on Wednesday.

Production for the period included 14.11 tonnes of mined gold compared with 12.26 tonnes a year ago, the ministry said.

Silver production totalled 66.50 tonnes in January, down from 97.92 tonnes in the same period of 2018.
