Silver futures fall to Rs 42,067 per kg

New Delhi-INDIA  (Aug 1)   Amid profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend overseas, silver prices fell 0.59 per cent to Rs 42,067 per kg at the futures trade today. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in far-month December traded lower by Rs 251 or 0.59 per cent to Rs 42,067 per kg in a business turnover of 31 lots. Similarly, the white metal prices for delivery in September declined by Rs 241 or 0.58 per cent to Rs 41,279 per kg in a business volume of 862 lots.

In the international market, silver prices traded lower by 1.1 per cent at $19.64 an ounce in Singapore.

Market analysts said apart from profit-booking by participants, a weak trend in the Asian region, led to the fall in silver prices at the futures trade here.
