Silver Recoups Losses, Strengthens Despite Strong Dollar

SAN FRANCISCO (July 8) Silver for September delivery reversed earlier losses and was last up 1.62% at $19.04 an ounce, just off its session high of $19.26 an ounce. iShares Silver Trust (SLV:$18.435,0$0.225,01.24%) was up 1.24%.
Silver futures recovered from Friday's losses of almost 5%, as well as earlier weakness in Monday's regular session, tracking gold higher. Both metals have logged gains despite a strong U.S. dollar against the euro and other currencies. However, HUI Index of mining comapnies continues to slide...0.91% to 213..91 on the day.
