U.S. Silver Mine Output Rises Slightly In June

September 10, 2013

NEW YORK (Sept 10)  U.S. silver mine output was 92,300 kilograms in June, the U.S. Geological Survey said Monday.

June’s output rose 200 kgs over May’s production and was 1,700 kgs above year-ago production.

The average daily production rate in June was 3,080 kgs of silver, USGS said. This compares to 2,970 kgs in May and 2,880 kgs for the full year 2012.

Domestic silver output for the first half of 2013 was 4% greater than the first half of 2012 and slightly lower than the second half of 2012, USGS said.

Nevada’s silver production in June versus May rose and more than offset a dip in June production versus May in other states, they said. These other states include Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Utah.
