Gold futures drop, suffer a loss for the week

San Francisco (Apr 22)  Gold futures settled sharply lower Friday on the back of a stronger U.S. dollar DXY, +0.52% to finish out the week with a loss of 0.4%. June gold GCM6, -1.52% dropped $20.30, or 1.6%, to settle at $1,230 an ounce. For the week, prices lost roughly 0.4%, according to FactSet data.
