Gold price dips and silver stable

Kathmandu-Nepal (Feb 8)  The price of gold dropped by Rs 400 per tola, while that of silver remained constant throughout the week — from February 1 to 6. On Sunday, the first trading day of the week, the price of the precious yellow metal was fixed at Rs 54,100 per tola. On Monday, its price went down by Rs 100 per tola to Rs 54,000. The slide continued on Tuesday and Wednesday with the bullion price dropping by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per tola to Rs 53,700 and Rs 53,500 per tola, respectively. On Thursday, however, its price rose by Rs 400 per tola to Rs 53,900 per tola. On Friday, gold lost its shine again to be traded at Rs 53,700 per tola.

Silver, on the other hand, remained constant. The white metal was priced at Rs 720 per tola throughout the week.
