Gold Prices & Silver prices slump

Kathmandu-Nepal (May 24)  Gold and silver prices declined by Rs 400 and Rs 15 per tola respectively, over the week, from May 17 to 22. Gold and silver prices slumped this week after regular rise in bullion market for two consecutive weeks. The market opened on Sunday with gold price fixed at Rs 53,000 per tola. Price of precious yellow metal remained unchanged till Tuesday. However, bullion price started to plunge from Wednesday. On Wednesday, gold price slumped by Rs 300 per tola to Rs 52,700 per tola and remained unchanged on Thursday.

With the marginal slump of Rs 100 per tola, gold price settled at Rs 52,600 per tola on Friday — the last trading day of the week. Likewise, price of silver also plunged by Rs 15 per tola in the six trading days of the week. Silver was traded at Rs 750 per tola on Sunday — the first trading day of the week. Price of white metal remained stable for another two trading days of the week — Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, silver price was down Rs 15 per tola to be traded at Rs 735 per tola. Silver price, however, edged up by five rupees per tola on Thursday to be fixed at Rs 740 per tola. With marginal slump of five rupees per tola on Friday, silver price closed the weeks’ trading at Rs 735 per tola.
