Oil, gold prices rise on Turkey's coup

Pakistan (July 16)  Brent crude oil jumped to $48.89 per barrel (pb) from $47.63 pb to gain 25 cents pb in less than 45 minutes of announcing the military coup in Turkey.

By 11:45pm GMT, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil levelled up 30 cents pb to $46.28 pb after $45.98 pb.

Spot gold also rose $10.71 per ounce to reach $1,337.62/ounce after $1,326.91/ounce.
