December 30, 2016

New Delhi-India (Dec 30)  Silver prices were up by Rs. 124 to Rs. 39,745 per kg at the futures trade today after participants raised their bets amid a firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March 2017 was up by Rs. 124 or 0.31 per cent at Rs. 39,745 per kg in a business turnover of 457 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month May traded higher by Rs. 108 or 0.27 per cent at Rs. 40,404 per kg in seven lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at the futures trade to a firm trend in the precious metal overseas as weakness in the dollar contributing to the gains.

Meanwhile, silver traded 0.43 per cent higher at $16.19 an ounce in Singapore.
