Silver, platinum and palladium retreat from yesterday's price surge

LONDON (July 24)  Silver was down 1.6 percent at $20.21 an ounce, having risen 5 percent on Monday. Spot platinum was down 1.2 percent at $1,423.49 an ounce, while palladium was down 2 percent at $728.97 an ounce.
