Silver, platinum, palladium and copper all rise in Friday trading

NEW YORK (July 19) September silver tacked on 7 cents, or 0.4%, to end at $19.46 an ounce after posting losses over the past two sessions. It was 1.7% lower for the week. 

In other metals action, September copper  rose just under a penny, or 0.3%, to $3.14 a pound, down 0.5% from a week ago, while October platinum  made a solid $16.40 rise — up 1.2% to $1,431.20 an ounce, for a weekly gain of 1.7%.

September palladium  added $2.25, or 0.3%, to end at $749.75 an ounce, leaving it up 3.7% for the week.
