The sense that something isn’t right out there just got a lot stronger. And the Fed, in response, is now tiptoeing back towards QE. Let’s start with the sudden bad news:

Martin Feldstein, who was chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors under President Reagan and is currently a Harvard professor, wrote an extraordinary editorial in the Wall Street Journal in which he strongly advocated that the Federal Reserve pursue policies...
We are all too familiar with established views rejecting change. It has nothing to do with the facts. Officialdom’s mind is often firmly closed to all reason on the big issues. To appreciate why we must understand the crowd psychology behind the systemic consensus...
The U.S. government and the Deep State are monster porkers. Government runs on dollars, debt and devaluation. It spends too much supporting corporations and cronies and buying votes. The Treasury issues debt to fund the revenue shortfall. Prices rise and they...
Currently, some market watchers have begun to openly question whether the bull market in stocks has finally come to an end. They certainly have cause to worry. Valuations are frothy after a record run-up in the last few years.

We are pleased to bring this new analysis to everyone's attention because we strongly believe the bears and the shorts are in for a wild ride throughout the rest of 2018. Our research team, at www.TheTechnicalTraders.com, have gone over the chart using our advanced...
In what has already been a very interesting week, we’ve witnessed distractions galore. Allegations of election fraud by pretty much everyone except the people who should be winning some of these elections if Americans truly wanted a different future.

Celebrated value investor Benjamin Graham, who mentored a young Warren Buffett, liked to say that the market is a voting machine in the short term, a weighing machine in the long term. Last week the market voted to reward stocks in the aftermath of the midterm...
Back in the 1960s, from time to time, many of my elementary school classmates would have great difficulty paying attention to the teacher. It would usually take the form of doodling with a pencil, drawing prepubescent renditions of monsters or hot rods or animals....
Our research team warned of this move in Crude Oil back on October 7, 2018. At that time, we warned that Oil may follow a historical price pattern, moving dramatically lower and that lows near $65 may become the ultimate bottom for that move. Here we are with a...

Silver is on a major sell signal. Major signals can last for months and years and are suitable for long-term investors. SLV is on short-term sell signal.
Oil sector is on a major sell signal. As long as VIX remains below 20 on a monthly close, it’s a correction within a bull market. Current investing model favors equities, therefore, investors should remain overweighed with stocks or stock ETFs for maximum growth.

Housing prices and the associated REIT returns have worked very differently in the United States since the recession of 2001. The increasing financialization of the real estate markets by Wall Street, and the aggressive and unconventional interventions by the...
The flow of institutional money into stocks is under such expert control these days that we shouldn’t doubt DaBoyz’ ability to manipulate the broad averages to new record highs regardless of economic headwinds. On days when the FAANGs are soft, which was the case on...

Our research team is writing this message to alert all investors and traders of a pending rotation in the US stock market that may happen between now and November 15. The upside price breakout that is occurring on November 7, the day after the US mid-term elections...

As contentious as the US midterm elections were, there was never a scenario in which they mattered. Any possible configuration of Republicans and Democrats in the House and Senate would have yielded pretty much the same set of economic policies going forward: Ever-...

It was a very good day for the metals Friday, as they rose sharply in response to the dollar going into reverse after a sizable run-up. A very significant development was that platinum broke out of its Head-and-Shoulders bottom on strong volume, a move which we had...

The hedge-fund manager famous for betting against the US housing market ahead of the 2008 crash is shorting a pair of British bank stocks in anticipation that the UK falls out of the European Union without securing a Brexit deal.
Silver continues to be a singularly neglected and unloved investment, and has been for years now, but as we will proceed to see, this is not a situation that is likely to continue for much longer.
With very strong US jobs data hitting the news wires this morning and an incredible upside price swing overnight because of expectations and hope of a US/China trade deal in the works, we were not surprised by the downside rotation in the US stock market this...

Hedge fund managers sit at the top of the financial world’s food chain. They’re generally seen as the smartest money managers, and their companies have the most flexibility to pursue new opportunities. The result is supposed to be the best possible returns – for...

Silver is on a major sell signal. SLV is on short-term buy signal. Speculation remains at multi-decade low, but short covering has begun.
Our benchmark S&P500 is on a major buy signal. New money should wait for a correction and cycle bottom to accumulate for long-term holding.

The “public pension crisis” is the kind of subject that’s easy to over-analyze, in part because there are so many different examples of bad behavior out there and in part because the aggregate damage these entities will do when they start blowing up is immense.
Home buyers in every city and state have been benefiting from a powerful financial cycle for almost five years. Most people are not aware of this cycle, but it has lowered the average monthly mortgage payment for home buyers on a national basis by about $250 per...

The current silver bottoming process is very similar to that of 2001 to 2003. It took a while for silver to establish a base which set up the bull rally in the following years to 2011. The current bottoming has been longer, but it fits the profile of the early 2000...

Silver prices peaked in 2011. The descent has been long and tedious. Perhaps silver prices made an important low on September 11, 2018, like they did on November 21, 2001 at $4.01. That long-term low was twenty cents below the price on September 11, 2001, the day...
Is it safe to go back in the water? Merely asking that question is to suggest that only an imbecile would dive fearlessly back in the drink. Even so, there are most surely enough imbeciles to keep stocks buoyant in the days or even weeks ahead.

Monday’s session was a deadly and massive bull trap due to the morning false breakout above the key 2693/2700 levels with the high at 2707 that lasted for a brief moment and looked like the start of a significant temporary bottom formation off Friday’s 2627 low.
Yesterday’s slow-motion selloff probably didn’t generate much fear, but it probably exhausted sellers for a while. Although I’ve put out a somewhat lower target in the E-Mini S&Ps for Tuesday, the big moves in the FAANGs appear to be over, or very nearly so.
After a long, initially-successful run promoting European integration and mass immigration, German Chancellor Angela Merkel saw the bottom fall out of her political fortunes this year. This morning she stepped down as leader of the formerly-dominant Christian...

Wall Street’s playbook stipulates that every down tick in the market is just another buying opportunity. While that is most often true, peak margins, a slowing global economy and the bond bubble collapse makes this time more like 2008 than just a routine selloff.
I’ve presented this chart before, with a bull-market target at 27,251. If the Dow had gotten within 5-10 points of this Hidden Pivot and begun to fall, I’d have treated the weakness as the almost certain beginning of a major bear market.
As I read much of the commentary being pushed around the internet now, we see generally see a broad range: on one end there are perma-bears calling for the mother of all market crashes, and on the other are those who are pounding the table about the fundamentals of...
