So it happened – oil reversed lower and we were right there. While yesterday’s downswing has been partially retraced, and oil is trading close to unchanged today, there’re still plenty of valuable clues as to the upcoming price action. Let’s dive in to see how they...

Let’s take a look at how the average consumer is doing. I’ll call this typical consumer “Bubba” because I just read an article that claimed “Bubba’s doing better today than at any time since before the Korean War.” It disgusted me because I found it to be such a...

Gold has been all the rage lately as the yellow metal has made a return to the front page of the financial news. Gold broke out of its $331.30 trading range dating back to 2014 to the upside in June. The price has moved to over $1500 per ounce and remained not far...

KISS is an acronym for Keep It Simple, Stupid. But in these politically correct days, think of K.I.S.S. as Keep It Super Simple. For silver relevant versions of KISS, see below.

Oil bulls are a battle-hardened species. Not only have they rebuffed the bears’ attack to close higher yesterday, they’ve been building upon their gains earlier today too. Right now, they’re in the vicinity of an important resistance level. Will they manage to break...

Major stock markets globally fell for a third straight day today. Fears about a deepening and global trade war, protests in Hong Kong and a crash in Argentina’s peso currency led to safe haven demand for bonds, gold and silver

Friday’s trading session was bearish, as stock retraced their Thursday’s advance. However, the S&P 500 index remained above the 2,900 mark. So will the short-term uptrend reverse? Or is this just a downward correction before another leg up?

The best performing metal this week was silver, up 4.78 percent. Silver had been somewhat detached from gold’s price changes, but now with recession odds rising, silver is catching its bid. Gold traders and analysts were bullish on their outlook for the yellow metal...

Copper is a fairly strong measure of the strength and capacity of the global economy and global manufacturing.  Right now, Copper has been under quite a bit of pricing pressure and has fallen from levels above $4.50 (near 2011) to levels near $2.55.  Most recently,...

Oh my gosh, what a load of BULL I keep reading among the gurus who whine about negative headlines and complain that this unmerited negativity is the only thing that is killing the bull market. Bull.

The late John Scarne, one of the world great experts on gambling, once wrote a treatise explaining why you can’t win at three-card monte. That’s the game where a grifter lays three playing cards on a makeshift table, instructing you to follow the queen. He turns...

On June 12, I wrote, The market is moving into waiting mode as the Fed’s next FOMC meeting where they have the opportunity to live up to the rate-cutting hopes they’ve raised come next week. As it does, it is forming that topping pattern that keeps repeating at this...

Stocks turned lower on Wednesday, as investors reacted to the Fed’s interest rate cut. The S&P 500 index broke below the 3,000 mark and it got closer to the early May local high of around 2,954. Then the index slightly bounced before closing 1.1% lower. So is...
